French Fancy

07 june issue of complete kit car

This crazy looking trike is the work of French firm Design 2 and was the Marmite car of the show - some loved it, others hated it. We happen to love its modern, sharp styling and can't wait for the prototype to become a production reality. It should be on the market in time for Exeter show in November.

French Trike Gets Closer

08 january issue of complete kit car

DESIGN 2, RUN by Tony Lafaye, camefrom France to the Detling show with a concept of a striking motorcycle powered three-wheeler. Feedback for the madcap machine was very encouraging and Design 2 was pressing on with development until the designer left.

Rayvolution Designs

08 august Peterborough Kit & Car builder show

Welcome to the RAYVOLUTION company all the way from France. The new concept car called the Evolution has been designed by Tony Lafaye, he has incorporated many characteristics that will evoke the feeling of the open road yet still retain it's strong motorcycle connection. Each part has a function, the technology remains transparent, the form is noticeably simple but full of energy. The general shape of the body evoke's the shape of the ARNO XI, a Ferrari engined world famous racing speedboat, it has touches of Star wars by way of the Naboo fighter with convoluted surfaces giving the stance of the car an impression of life, even the upper part of the body seems to float like a Manta ray. A wide body to the front gives an impression of power and the rear has the good fast lines of a sport motorcycles, this suggest a feel of lightness and simplicity.

The design has purposely been kept light, using small and unobtrusive headlamps with round lights at front and rear. Unusually most Kit Cars have thier engines, exhaust etc hidden, but on the Evolution these components are high lighted and turned into a an attractive feature.

The basic concept of the car is "plug and play". Most kits needs many hours to complete and a fair amount of mechanical skills. The Evolution is designed to be fast and easy to build, no special tools or knowledge required. The car has been designed to just plug into a Suzuki GSX-R with minimum alterations to the motorcycle. The basic concept is also designed to receive most other sports motorcycles. A unique system is incorporated in the Evolution which allows all the hydraulics/electrics to just plug in without having to bleed the systems or rewire the electrics, this saves many hours during the build-helps make building a real pleasure.
